The England head coach voiced his sadness that the Three Lions team did not enjoy greater encouragement from the home crowd during their decisive 3-0 friendly victory on Thursday evening.
Tuchel was pleased to see his side maintain their winning momentum, with strikes from Rogers, Ollie Watkins, and Saka inside the first 20 minutes effectively ending the contest. But, he was displeased with the energy at the iconic venue.

“How much more can you provide in the first quarter? We didn’t let them escape. When you only hear just the Welsh supporters for 30 minutes, it’s regrettable because the squad warranted better encouragement today.”
“I stand by my words. We cannot do more than leading three goals up in a rivalry match. I hoped for a greater backing in periods where it becomes tough.”
“After halftime, to support us, there was a bit too much support for Wales. It might have aided us to recharge, but that’s the way it went and so be it.”
Squad Decisions Vindicated by Performance
Apart from risking a fight with supporters, Tuchel also created controversy by excluding Bellingham and Phil Foden from his team selection. However the decision was backed up by Morgan Rogers impressing again in the attacking midfield role and scoring his first international goal.
“He plays his game,” the head coach noted. “He is a No 10 and he is vying for his position.”
Bellamy Hopes for Improvement from Defeat
The Wales manager hopes that his team, who host Belgium in a key World Cup qualifier on Monday, improve after their awful first-half display.
