Unveiling an Unique Steam Game Trial: Guiding a Poop with the Goal to Arrive at the Toilet
Steam Next Fest is now live, and players have found a variety of entertaining creations from small studios. Yet, one stands out for its unconventional concept. Titled Unko Technica, this classic-feel side-scrolling game includes a hero that is literally a turd trying to navigate to a toilet. As a fun fact, "Unko" is Japanese for "poop."
The gameplay is straightforward: just use a one button to leap. In numerous levels, battle tough enemies and unlock a shop to purchase outfits for your dung hero.
Time your jumps precisely, as a error forces starting over. Jump on bubbles to propel yourself higher, cross crumbling ledges, and touch triggers to unlock secret routes. Earn currency and use them on tougher stages where gameplay ramps up.
In terms of design, the game shows off vibrant level designs and catchy background music. The simple graphics with shifting abstract forms evokes memories of players of old favorites like Earthbound.
Even though difficult to name previous releases where you control a piece of feces, video games often included toilet humor. For instance, in Death Stranding, players create grenades from character waste. Examples include Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved use feces as soil enrichment. Unsurprisingly, this theme shows up a lot in the South Park RPG The Stick of Truth.
Despite its goofy idea, Unko Technica has already received notable awards, like winning at Bandai Namco's GYAAR Studio in 2023. This trial version is ready now on Steam, with the full game scheduled to debut on Steam on November 19.
